Date: June 1981

Releasing two years after the overpriced TI 99/4, the 99/4a offered a much better keyboard and graphics and sound on par with the Commodore VIC-20 for around $200. A wide array of software was available on cartridge form. The TI 99/4a was well known for its education titles.

TI offered an expansion box which could house disk drives, additional memory, modems, etc. Software was also available on cassette. Programs could be typed and run in using the built-in BASIC language although other languages were an option.
