Social Narrative
What is a social narrative?
A social narrative is a short story that helps people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other disabilities understand social situations and learn appropriate behaviors. Download VRCMCT’s Social Narrative to prepare for visiting the museum.

1. Today we are visiting the Vintage Radio and Communications Museum.

2. When we arrive, we pay for admission before going into the Museum.

3. We will follow a tour guide or map to look at the items. During the tour, I stay with my group, and I do not run.

4. We can see how people communicated throughout history. There are a lot of items to see in the museum.

5. The items in the museum can break easily. There are some things we can touch and some things we cannot.

6. If I have a question, I can ask the tour guide. I do not shout during the tour.

7. Some of the items can be loud. I can cover my ears if I need to.

8. Sometimes if I need a break, I can sit in the lobby.

9. There are many fun things to see and learn about. If there are some things we did not see, we can come back another time or look online.
