VINTAGE RADIO AND COMMUNICATIONS MUSEUM OF CONNECTICUT TO HOLD HUGE END OF SUMMER SWAP MEET

Windsor, Connecticut August 19, 2011  – The Vintage Radio and Communications Museum of Connecticut is clearing out its store room and putting many items up for sale as part of its annual end-of-summer swap meet. This year it will be held on September 10th in the museum parking lot starting at 8a and continuing to around noon. The swap meets offer people a chance to buy, sell and trade old radios, televisions and other communications equipment. Collectors from all over the northeast are expected to attend the swap meet.

"Every September we have a swap meet. Our museum is bursting to the seams so we are taking advantage of the date to clean out our back storage area to make room for expanded displays,” says museum assistant director Chris Watts. “There are many old radios, test equipment, vacuum tubes, books and more up for sale. Prices for many of the pieces range from $1 to $10, so there are lots of great bargains. Plus there will be many other vendors from all over New England selling radios and other communications items tailgate style in our parking lot. If it rains, the swap will be held inside the museum.”

Admission to the event is free. Anyone who has an interest in old radios, televisions or other communications equipment is encouraged to come down. For more information about the swap meet or to reserve a vendor's spot, please call John Ellsworth at (860) 673-0518.
