Our Board
The Board for the Vintage Radio and Communications Museum of Connecticut has been in existance since the late 1990s, with numerous changes. Our annual meeting is held each October and our bylaws are approved by the Secretary of the State of Connecticut. We currently have five members:
 |
Museum Director John Ellsworth - John is the founder of the museum and has been its driving force since the early days of New Britain. He is our director and brings a great "can do" attitude to the museum. When not volunteering at the museum, he is the Director of the Technology Department at Southington High School. |
 |
Museum Assistant Director Chris Watts - Chris is another long-time volunteer, getting involved with the museum just shortly after graduating high school in 1991. As an advertising executive at Martino & Binzer, he helps with museum marketing, website design, and is one of the younger volunteers who can always be counted on to lend a hand when needed. |
 |
Museum Secretary Bernie Michaels - Bernie joined up with the museum in the late 1990s and has been a tireless volunteer, lending countless hours to help strengthen and organize the museum's collections, bylaws, minutes, and fund raising efforts. As a retired employee from Xerox and XXX, his background in the communications industry is invaluable when creating our museum's displays. |
| |
Museum Treasurer Davida "Debbie" Michaels - Debbie is a recent addition to our board, taking over the treasurer position after former treasure Chris McClurg stepped down. A computer wiz, Debbie has helped continue the museum's efforts to electronically track budgets as well as catalogue and organize our vast collection of material. Plus she's good at keeping Bernie in line. |
| |
Board Member George Clark - George is another long time museum volunteer and can often been seen at the museum helping with buildings and grounds work, beautification, as well as helping organize our collection. He is also an active volunteer with the Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation. |
